Garden Clubs and Projects:

Grow Local Project – Email to join their mailing list. You will receive weekly gardening tips and notifications about free gardening workshops and events. To learn more about this project click here

Mt. Klitsa Garden Club – Meetings occur on the first Thursday of the month, 7:00 pm, at Echo Centre. If you are looking for more information you can contact Shirley Reimer 250-724-1550. (There is no meeting in July, August, and December)

Farmers Markets:

Spirit Square Farmers Market – Year-round on Saturdays from 9 am to noon at the Harbour Quay. Check their Facebook page for updates

Market on Margaret – Wednesdays from 6 pm to 9pm on Margaret St. (outside Twin City Brewery) in the Summer. Check their website or Facebook page for updates

Port Alberni Farmers Market – Year-round on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm at 6211 Cherry Creek Rd. Check their Facebook page for updates 

The Uptown Urban Market – Fridays noon till 6 pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10 am to 2 pm at 3135 2nd. Ave, Port Alberni.

CMHA Healthy Harvest Farm:

This farm provides an opportunity for those affected by mental illness to be involved in the local farming community and a supportive, low stress work environment. You can seasonally purchase produce from them. To sign up for their box program contact Anna. You can find more information about the box program fees in the “About” section of their Facebook page.
